HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Five people have been killed and 20 others in a traffic accident in western Herat province, local officials said on Friday.
Two passenger cars collided on the Herat-Kandahar highway in Adraskan district on Thursday night, a spokesman for the Public Health Department said.

He said give passengers, including three women and two men, were killed in the head-on collision. Twenty others, children, men and women included, were wounded.
The casualties were evacuated to the Adraskan district clinic, the official said, adding that nine of the injured were in critical condition.
Ali Ahmad Faqiryar, the district’s administrative chief, confirmed the collision in Muhajirin area. However, he put the toll at five dead and 15 injured.
He linked the accident to rash driving.
