JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Nine Taliban insurgents were killed and two others injured during an airstrike by joint Afghan forces in the Sherzad district of eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday.
A statement issued by the Nangarhar provincial media office said the airstrike targeting the Taliban Red Unit was carried out in Kudi Khel area at around 12:08 pm.
Nine Taliban insurgents were killed and two others were wounded in the attack, according to the statement. A vehicle belonging to the militants was also destroyed.
The Taliban have not commented on the incident.
