Former Indonesian vice president arrives in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Former Indonesian Deputy President and head of the Mohamadia Organisation Dr. Jusuf Kalla has arrived on an official visit to Kabul, a statement from the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs said on Wednesday.

Religious Affairs Minister and Presidential Advisor Mohammad Qasim Haleemi received the former Indonesian deputy president in the airport this morning, the statement said.

The purpose of the visit was improving bilateral relationship, discussion on peace process and Jakarta Regional Conference.

Developing cooperation between religious sector of both countries, learning from the experiences of Ulema and talks with official in Kabul are also parts of the visit.

It is worth mentioning that the first meeting of Ulema on Afghanistan held in Indonesia in which ulema from Afghan government and the Taliban sides participated.
