GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Two pro-government fighters have been killed and four others wounded in southeastern Paktia province, officials said on Sunday.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire on public uprising forces in Gardez, the provincial capital, late on Saturday night.
The acting police chief for Paktia, Lutfullah Kamran, accused the Taliban of attacking the pro-government fighters.
Without going into details, the police chief said the assailants were clad in burqas.
There was no immediate reaction to Kamran’s claim from the Taliban, who have lately stepped up attacks on government forces..
