CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Parwan police on Wednesday announced the arrest of 15 suspects on charges of involvement in terrorist activities and other criminal offenses.
Abdul Wasi Rahimi, the deputy police chief for Parwan, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the arrests came in the Syedkhel district of the central province.
Seven of the 15 individuals were detained in connection with terrorist activities and eight others on charges of criminal offences.
Without elaborating, he said weapons, ammunition, military equipment and uniforms were recovered from the suspects.
Governor Fazluddin Ayar said the operation mounted after five police personnel were killed in a landmine blast, the murder of a teacher and an attack on the appellant prosecution chief.
