KABUL (Pajhwok): The United States of America has once again expressed its deep concern over mounting attacks on journalists in Afghanistan.

Soon after the killing of Ghor-based journalist Bismillah Adil Aimaq, US Chargé d’Affaires Ross Wilson said this tactic to silence the media was appalling.

The diplomat tweeted on Friday: “Another Afghan journalist was killed today … Attacks on freedom of speech and those who seek to inform society are appalling and must end.”

On Thursday, the US National Security Council condemned recent targeted attacks on Afghan journalists as disgraceful.

“We stand with brave Afghan journalists. Targeted attacks against them are disgraceful and cowardly.” The council tweeted.
