KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Kandahar police on Monday claimed to have killed the assassin of an Afghan National Army pilot along two other insurgents.
Jamal Naser Barekzai, Kandahar police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the slain men had been involved in many targeted killings and were under police chase.
He added one of the killed insurgents was identified as Nor Mohammad who had killed Masood Atal, a pilot of the ANA 215 military corps, and some other security personnel in Kandahar city.
“Police recovered three pistols and a motor bike from the slain insurgents,” he said.
Meanwhile, a security source told Pajhwok Afghan News militants killed a civilian in Salo Khan Chaman area of Kandahar city’s 15th police district.
The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
