KABUL (Pajhwok): Interior Minister Masoud Andarabi on Tuesday once again renewed the government’s call on the armed opponents to take serious steps for peace and reconciliation because they could not reach power though war.

Andarabi said this while addressing the graduation ceremony of 60 police officers from the Gen. Abdul Razeq Academy in Kabul.

In his address, Andarabi assured the people of Afghanistan that if the militants rejected a peaceful settlement, they would be defeated again and again.

He said Afghan security forces were fully prepared to thwart all violent plans of opponents to reach power.

About police training and qualification, the minister said the level of training and education of police should be enhanced.

A German Advisor at the Interior Ministry, Mr. Parma said that Germany will continue to support Afghan police and their professional training.
