TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): At least six security personnel have been killed as a result of a car bomb attack an Afghan National Army (ANA) base in central Uruzgan province.
A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Sofian area of Tirinkot on Wednesday evening.
He said a Humvee was used in the bombing. Four policemen and two ANA soldiers were killed and a number of others wounded, the source added.
Mohammad Karim, deputy chairman of the provincial council, confirmed the attack and said the explosion was powerful.
The Taliban have not yet commented about the bombing, which came hours after the resumption of the intra-Afghan peace negotiations in Doha.
