KABUL (Pajhwok): Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar held a telemeeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ms. Retno L.P Marsudi and discuss wide range of issues, according to a statement on Friday.
The two sides discussed a wide range of issues including the Afghan peace process and multilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement.
Atmar updated Minister Marsudi on the latest developments in the Afghan peace process and expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s invaluable contribution to peace in Afghanistan.
The two Ministers discussed bilateral political consultations, the second round of which was held in Kabul in the Spring of 2020. They decided to hold the third round in 2021 in Jakarta.
Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation on multilateral affairs, including supporting each others’ candidacies for various United Nations posts.
