KABUL (Pajhwok): Intelligence operatives have arrested five members of the Haqqani network in Sharana, the capital of south-eastern of Paktika province, the spy service said on Monday.
A statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said the detainees included Naqibullah, known as Addul Hai.
The statement claimed Naqibullah had recently met with two ISI generals, Amir Baha’i and Qadeem, in Karachi, Pakistan and was tasked with carrying out targeted killings and terrorist attacks in Paktia and Paktika provinces.
The statement added Naqibullah and four others wanted to transport and detonate an explosive-laden motorcycle and a pickup truck in Sharana, which was seized by NDS forces.
The Haqqani network has not yet commented in this regard.
