Woman killed, husband wounded in Sar-e-Pul

SARI-PUL (Pajhwok): A man killed his brother’s wife and injured his brother in northern Sar-i-Pul province last night, police said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Noor Agha Faizi said the incident took place in the Imam Khord area of Sari Pul city late on Saturday night.

He said without elaborating that the murder was a result of domestic violence. Faizi said police had started their investigation into the case.

Meanwhile, officials say 17 cases of murder and six suicides of women have been registered with the provincial Department of Women’s Affairs this year.
