GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Policeman Abdul Malik, who was the only bread-winner for his 13-member family, has been killed in a Taliban attack in southeastern Paktia province.
Abdul Malik, a resident of Dawlatzai village in Gardez, was killed two days ago and since his mother and wife could still be heard crying and mourning his death.
The mother of Abdul Malik said her first son, who was an Afghan National Army soldier, was killed two months back and Malik was her second and last son killed in the conflict.
She said: “My son Abdul Waseh was martyred two months back and now Abdul Malik; to whom should I tell my grief, we are destroyed, my son left behind wife and orphans.”
Abdul Malik’s 65-year-old father says his son was a nice and loving person and he could not harm anyone.
He said the death of his two sons broke his back and now he was unable to take care of his two daughter-in-laws and nine grandchildren.
He said: “May Allah bring peace, tell the Taliban to renounce violence against Muslims for Allah’s sake.”
Police chief LitfullahKarmar vowed cooperation with Abdul Malik’s family. “We plan to immediately assist the families of martyrs and injured police personnel.”
