140kg of drugs seized in Nimroz

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Counternarcotics police have seized nearly 140 kilograms of various drugs in southwestern Nimroz province, an official  said on Tuesday.

Parwiz Sistani, anti-narcotics department director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that anti-narcotics police had seized the drugs in three separate operations during the past week in Zaranj.

He said the drugs included 95kg of opium, 41kg of ice and three and a half kilograms of hashish.

He added two people had also been arrested for smuggling the drugs in two vehicles.
