CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Officials in central Parwan province said on Wednesday that 429 agricultural projects worth 219 million afghanis have been completed in the province.
The projects include 154 raisin houses, 200 onion storages, 10 apple cold storages, 35 potato storages and 30 solar dryers.
The officials said these projects were executed in the provincial capital, Charikar, and districts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in ten months.
Governor Fazluddin Ayar said completion of the projects would resolve farmers’ problems with regard to storing their crops.
HezarGul, a farmer in Qala-e-Nasravi area, said “A grape cold storage on 80 square meters area for us. Previously we would incur losses. This cold storage is good for us. Now we can preserve our grapes and sell them at an appropriate price, previously we sold only raisins.”
