Head of extortionist gang arrested in Parwan

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Security personnel have arrested the head of an extortionist and illegal armed group in the Jabal-us-Saraj district of central Parwan province, an official said on Wednesday.

Saifullah Bidar, the district chief, said Hamayoon, aka Bache Padshah, was arrested on Tuesday night in the Manara village of the district.

“The detainee was accused of kidnappings, thefts, extortion and threatening people over the telephone,” he added.

The arrest comes as JabalSaraj residents are concerned at increasing armed robberies, extortion and insecurity in the province.
