KABUL (Pajhwok): Nine drug smugglers and sellers have been arrested during Afghan forces operations in three provinces of the country, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement.

The statement said that the operations were launched by counternarcotics security personnel in Nangarhar, Parwan and Panjshir provinces.

Five drug sellers and a smuggler were arrested in Nangarhar, two smugglers in Parwan and one was detained in Panjshier province, the source said.

The statement said that 60 kilograms of opium, 14 kilograms of hashish and some amount of heroin were seized from the detainees.

MoI earlier said that 15 drug smugglers had been arrested from seven provinces of the country.
