KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The governor of northern Kunduz province claims the new provincial leadership has addressed alcohol drinking and other irregularity problems in security forces ranks.
Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal, while addressing a gathering at the provincial Education Department four months ago had claimed receiving a report that Kunduz police, army and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel used to drink every evening.
In the video, the governor regarding the matter said that the issue existed four months ago but now it had been resolved.
“Earlier there were individuals who acted against the military disciplines; these individuals were irregular and they exploited their power but we dismissed these individuals from security ranks and the issue has been resolved,” the governor said.
The governor also said some people had problems with the Citizen Security Charter and as a result they were conspiring against him.
“Those who have grabbed government lands and are involved in illegal activities are conspiring against me but I will implement the Citizen Security Charter come what may,” asserted Mizakwal.
The governor dubbed Kunduz as the most secure province because blasts and suicide attacks did not occur in the province.
His claims following growing complains from Kunduz people regarding insecurity and Taliban’s presence in areas near the provincial capital, Kunduz City.
