KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least six people were injured as a result of a bomb blast that hit a passenger vehicle in southern Kandahar province on Monday morning, an official said.
Bahir Ahmadi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the passenger bus struck a roadside bomb in the Mirakhor Bazaar area of Maiwand district at around 7:00am.
He said six passengers, all men, were wounded and evacuated to the Mirwais Hospital for medical treatment. He would not comment on their condition.
Haji Obaidullah, the district’s administrative chief, blamed the Taliban for blocking highways and prompting passenger vehicles to ply alternative routes.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
