AIBAK (Pajhwok): More than 11.5 million afghanis in cash assistance and 2,244 blankets have been distributed to 748 needy families in northern Samangan province.
Sibghatullah Sias, the Samangan natural disaster management head, told the aid distribution ceremony in Aibak that the cash and blankets were provided by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
He added the assistance was being distributed to needy families in Aibak and of Hazrat Sultan district through a donor agency.
Each family was being given 15,450 afghanis in cash and three blankets, the official said.
Gul Mirbar, a 64 years old resident of Mirgulal village, expressed happiness over receiving the aid. He hoped he would meet his family needs with the money he received.
