Pakistan fires 50 artillery shells into Kunar’s Shaltan district

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Pakistani security forces fired 50 artillery shells into the Shaltan district of eastern Kunar province last night, the governor said on Tuesday.

Kunar Governor Mohammad Iqbal Saeed said Pakistan security forces targeted the Sono and Almazo localities in their overnight shelling.

Lal Saeed, a resident, said the cross border shelling had frightened local residents who had confined themselves to their homes, awaiting government assistance.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistani forces periodically fire artillery into Kunar province, causing financial and human losses.
