KABUL (Pajhwok): The High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) chief has asked the Taliban to discuss their demands with the government’s negotiating team in Doha. .
Speaking at an event in Kabul on Tuesday, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said based on credible information the insurgent movement was responsible for most of targeted attacks across the country.
The HCNR chairman claimed: “Unfortunately, most of this information indicates that the Taliban are involved in recent explosions and targeted killings.”
He urged the Taliban to put their demands or requests, if any, on the negotiating table. No individual or group could impose their will on the people by force, he remarked.
“Any side claiming responsibility for perpetuating the war must also mull over the consequences. Can one side impose its will on the other through war?” the reconciliation leader asked.
