KABUL (Pajhwok): The Saudi government, stepping up efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic, has suspected entry into the kingdom from 20 specific countries, says a media report.

The entry suspension applies to non-citizens, including diplomats, health practitioners and their families, from 20 countries, the Saudi Gazette said on Wednesday.

The 20 countries are:

Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, the US, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Pakistan, Brazil, Portugal, the UK, Turkey, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Lebanon, Egypt, India and Japan.

The move, which will come into force at 9 pm (KSA time) on Wednesday (Feb. 3), comes as part of the kingdom’s precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
“Saudi citizens, diplomats, health practitioners and their families coming from the mentioned countries, or those who transited any of those countries during 14 days preceding their return to the kingdom, will be allowed entry in accordance with the precautionary measures imposed by the Ministry of Health,” the report added.
