PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Police officials on Thursday said 15 light weapons have been seized from a passenger vehicle in northern Baghlan province.
Ahmad Javed Basharat, Baghlan police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that counter-narcotics personnel seized weapons while searching a 303 model Mercedes bus.
“The bus was moving from capital Kabul to Kunduz province when counter-narcotics police personnel of Baghlan seized the weapons from the vehicle,” Basharat said.
He added the police captured 11 pistols and four Kalashnikovs from the bus. The weapons were placed in a rickshaw which was tied on the roof of the vehicle, he said.
Police arrested the owner of the rickshaw and one another man in connection to the weapons smuggling, he concluded.
