Former jihadi commander, his son killed in Taliban attack

TALOQAN (Pajhwok): A former Jihadi commander and his son have been killed in the Taliban attack in northern Takhar province, an official said.

Police spokesman Khalil Aseer told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked the house of Tilawalqi, a former jihadi commander, in Hasham Qishlaq area of Taloqan City at 11:00pm on Wednesday night.

He said Tilawalqi and his son were killed in the overnight assault. No arrest had been made in this regard but an investigation was underway.

Dawood, a resident of the area, confirmed the incident and said that the former jihadi commander had been taking part in government-related programs.

Taliban have not yet commented regarding the overnight attack.
