KABUL (Pajhwok): Four minors from Afghanistan have been found squeezed along with a young man inside truck by traffic police near Italy’s southern city of Caserta, a news report said on Monday.
The underage Afghans were found inside the truck’s semi-trailer, ANSA said. A 21-year-old man was found near the lorry, the news report added.
Helped by an interpreter, the five individuals told Neapolitan police officers that they boarded the truck, which was transporting wheels, in Serbia.
For three days, they travelled squeezed between the wheels with only a bottle of water and some cookies for survival.
The authorities gave them food before the minors were sent to a shelter in Casoria, Naples. The man, who plans to apply for asylum, was shifted to a hosting cente in Caserta province.
