KABUL (Pajhwok): The Wolesi Jirga speaker on Wednesday accused the government of attempting to usurp the parliament’s powers, saying rejecting the budget draft was aimed at benefitting the masses.
The Wolesi Jirga has twice rejected the draft budget over imbalanced government employees’ salaries and other issues.
However, the Cabinet approved the third revised budget draft for fiscal year 1400 on Wednesday last and sent it to the Wolesi Jirga for approval on Saturday this week.
