Arrests made in connection to Zabul imaginary school construction  

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Public Housing Director, some employees of the Urban and Land Ministry and head of a construction company have been arrested in connection to the construction of imaginary school building in southern Zabul province, a well-placed source said on Monday.

According to Pajhwok report last month, nearly 40 million afghni received from the Urban and Land Affairs Ministry for the construction of a school building in Zabul. 8.3 million afghani was already provided for the same project under the Public Partnership Charter.

A well-places security source told Pajhwok Afghan News that security forces last week arrested Mohammad Hakeem Ayub, head of the Public Housing Department and some employees of the Urban Affairs Ministry in connection with the construction of imaginary school building in Zabul province.

The source did not provide more information about the detainees but added detective organs had collected relevant documents and then made the arrest.

The source said security forces also arrested Tamim Amini, head of the construction company that received nearly 40 million for the construction of school building from the Urban Affairs Ministry.

Hashmatullah Naseri, spokesperson of the Ministry of Urban Affairs, acknowledged the arrest of Ayub and some employees by security forces.
