KABUL (Pajhwok): US Chargé d’Affaires Ross Wilson applauded the blunt and compelling report by UNAMA on the targeted killing of human rights defenders & journalists.
Taking to his twitter account Wilson said: “We support its call for the Taliban to investigate, condemn, and prohibit targeted civilian killings such as these.”
“In line with UNAMA’s recommendations, we also call on the government to strengthen protections for these citizens, prosecute attacks transparently & #EndImpunity for murderers.”
“We unite with others in condemning increased attacks on those advancing human rights & freedom of speech in Afghanistan. We will continue to strongly support human right defenders & journalists in support of #PeaceForAfghanistan.”
