23 security personnel rescued from Taliban jail in Kunduz

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Afghan National Army (ANA) commandos have freed 23 security personnel and a civilian from a Taliban-run prison in northern Kunduz province, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday.

In a statement, MoD said the commandos raided the Taliban jail in the Kabul Qashlaq area of Aqtash district late on Wednesday night.

It added that 23 security personnel and a civilian were rescued in the overnight special raid.

The Taliban have not yet commented about the commando operation.
