Ghani forms delegation to probe Herat fire incident

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has appointed a delegation to investigate a fire breakout incident at the Islam Qala Port in western Herat province.

Few days back, hundreds of trucks loaded with petroleum and other products were turned to ashes as a huge fire engulfed the Islam Qala Port.

President Ghani has ordered investigation into the fire incident and appointed a delegation in this regard.

Assistant heads of Commerce Ministry, Attorney General Office, Herat Governor, and representatives of the National Directorate of Security, Interior Ministry, Zafar Corps Commander, Customs Office Commander, ACCI head and head of the Transport Union are members of the delegation to investigate the incident.

The delegation has been asked to investigate the cause of the fire, address the problems of affected people and present their report to the president to stop similar incidents from happening in the future.
