HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Local authorities in western Herat province say four officials of the Turghundi port have been arrested by the Interior Ministry on charges of corruption.
Governor Abdul Wahid Qatali confirmed the arrests and said the individuals were held late on Wednesday. However, he did not provide the number and identities of the detainees.
But a credible source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News four officials of the port had been detained on corruption charges.
He said the detainees included the port’s director, administrative manager, advisor and revenue manager. The detainees may be transferred to Kabul.
