KABUL (Pajhwok): Twenty-nine new positive coronavirus cases registered in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours taking the total national tally of respiratory disease patients to 55,646, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Monday.
The fresh 29 positive cases emerged from total 2,203 suspected samples brought to different laboratories of the country, according to the health ministry’s statement.
Of the new cases, 13 tested positive in Helmand, four each in Herat and Kandahar, two in Kapesa, one each in Kabul, Takhar, Kunduz, Maidan Wardak, Nuristan and Kunar provinces.
Sixty-one people have recovered from coronavirus disease in the past 24 hours taking the total tally or recovered patients from the deadly virus to 48,895.
