KABUL (Pajhwok): Taliban’s military commission has directed the group’s fighters not to allow foreign insurgents into their ranks and eschew sheltering them.
The insurgents failing to comply with the orders would be punished and expelled from the rebel movement, the commission warned in a statement.
“All authorities and mujahidin are instructed not to let foreign groups join their ranks and avoid giving them shelter,” the statement added..”
Violators of the orders would be referred to Taliban’s military commission for punishment, according to the statement.
Also on Tuesday, security officials alleged foreign insurgents were fighting alongside the Taliban in Kandahar province against government forces.
They claimed Al-Qaeda, Pakistani and Chechen fighters were aiding the Taliban in the Arghandab district of the province.
In their 2020 peace agreement with the United States, the Taliban promised severing relations with Al-Qaeda and other global terrorist outfits.
