CHARIKAR/AIBAK (Pajhwok): A member of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) has been killed in central Parwan province while an important member of Taliban figure has been arrested in Samangan, officials said on Thursday.
Bagram district chief Abdul Shakoor Qudusi said Fazal Mohammad, an NDS worker, was shot dead by armed motorcyclists at around 8:45am on Thursday in Ali Khankheli village
The intelligence agent came under attack on his way to office. No group has so far claimed responsibility for killing Mohammad.
Meanwhile, the spy service claimed in a statement arresting a member of the Taliban movement in northern Samangan province.
Nooruddin Salhashoor, the detainee, fought against government forces in lower Dara-i-Sauf district of Samangan and taxed cargo vehicles in Chichal area on the Balkh-Samangan highway.
He was captured in a raid by NDS personnel on Wednesday night. The Taliban, however, have not yet commented on his detention.
