Gas price down 35pc in Kabul this week

KABUL (Pajhwok): The price of liquefied gas has dipped by 35 percent while rates of flour, ghee, sugar, fuel and gold by two percents during the outgoing week in capital Kabul.

Mohammad Hussain Omaid, a wholesaler in Kabul Mandavi market, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of 46 kilograms of Kazakhstani flour dipped from 1,800 Afghanis to 1,700 Afghanis, 49kg of sugar from 2,270afs to 2,250afs, a tin of 16 liters of Malaysian ghee from 1,600afs to 1,580afs.

He said that the price of the items was decreased after opening of the country’s transport highways.

However, he added that eth price of 24kg of Pakistani rice cost 2,400afs, a kilogram of Indonesian green tea 290afs and the same quantity of African black tea 320afs, the same rates of last week’s.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahan-e-Bagh area of Kabul, said that the price of 49kg of Kazakhstani flour was 1,850afs, 49kg of Indian sugar 2,300afs, 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,450afs, 16 a tin of 16 liters of Malaysian 1,600afs, a kilogram of Indonesian green tea 300afs and the same quantity of African black tea 350afs.

Liquefied gas rate dipped by 35 percent.

Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kulula Pushta area in Kabul city said that the price of a kilogram of the commodity was dipped from 100afs to 65afs this week.

Workers of Hashemi Fuel Station in Taimani area of Kabul said that the price of a liter of diesel decreased from 50afs to 49afs. He said that the reason of price reduction was opening of the country’s highways.

However, he said that a liter of petrol cost 47afs, the same rate of last week’s.

Mohamad Javid, a jeweler in Lycee Mariam area of Kabul, said that the price of one gram of Arabian guld was dipped from 3,650afs to 3,500afs and the same quantity of Russian variety from 2,900afs to 2,850afs.

Haji Hussain, owner of Sadaqat Money Exchanger Service in Kabul said that one US dollar accounted for 77.50afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 485afs, against last week’s 77.30afs and 482afs.
