PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): No breakthrough has been achieved yet in investigations into the murder of a senior Taliban figure near the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Abdul Hadi was gunned down by unidentified attackers on in the Bakhshi Pul area of Peshawar on Saturday. The killers managed to escape.
“The First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and police are investigating it,” an official told The News International.
With investigators clueless about the motive behind his murder, Hadi had been living on the outskirt of the city in a rented house for more than a decade.
A teacher at a local seminary, Hadi was shot dead weeks after Taliban commander Mullah Abdul Samad Toor was killed in Tarnab village. He hailed from the Sarobi district Kabul.
