JALALABAD (Pajhwok) Unidentified gunmen shot dead seven workers of a plaster factory in eastern Nangarhar province last night, an official said on Thursday.
Police chief Juma Gul Himmat told Pajhwok Afghan News that the workers were killed in Marghondai area of the Surkhrod district on Wednesday night.
He said four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing.
Gulzada Sangar, spokesman for Nangarhar hospital, confirmed receiving seven bodies. He did not specify their identity.
Ajmal Omar, deputy chairman of the provincial council, told Pajhwok all the slain individuals were Hazaras and they were attacked by Daesh or Islamic State rebels.
He said a police check-post was located 200 meters from the incident site.
Daesh have not yet commented about the incident.
