KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul police on Sunday claimed busting a four-member kidnap group in Kabul and rescuing three abducted persons in two separate cases.
Police spokesman Firdous Faramarz told Pajhwok Afghan News that the four-member gang was detained in DehSabz district of Kabul while transferring a kidnapped person to another place. Police detained the group in Gumrok area of the 9th district after a clash.
Police also seized a weapon, a walkie-talkie and a vehicle from the detainees. He said without elaborating that the abducted man was released from the clutches of the kidnappers.
In another targeted operation by the Kabul Joint Security Team in the Ozbin area of Kabul’s Sarobi district, two kidnapped persons were released from their kidnappers.
Faramarz did not provide further details but he said that the kidnapers had been under police chase.
