HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Three security guards of Pashdan dam were killed and four others went missing following a Taliban attack in western Herat province on Tuesday, an official said.
Nizamuddin Khpalwak, a spokesman for the Water Management Regulatory Authority (WMRA), told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked the dam security guards at around 3:00am.
He said the insurgent assault resulted in the killing of three security guards. Four other guards have missing after the predawn attack.
Khpalwak called Pashdan one of the important dams in Afghanistan. Around 60 percent of work on the project has been completed so far . . .
