KABUL (Pajhwok): A government delegation, led by High Council for National Reconciliation Chairman Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, on Wednesday left for Russian to attend the Moscow conference.
In a series of tweets, Dr. Abdullah said: “Jointed by political leaders, some members of the negotiating team and the leadership committee of HCNR.”
“We are heading to the Russian Federation to take part in the Moscow conference on a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan, organized by Troika member states and hosted by Russia,” he wrote.
Abdullah said they were looking forward to a successful conference on the Afghan peace process and a fruitful exchange of views with the Taliban delegation and the host country.
Slated for Thursday, the event would focus on ways of accelerating the intra-Afghan negotiations in Doha, reducing violence and ending the conflict in Afghanistan, he explained.
“We thank Troika & Russia for organising this timely & important conference. While, welcoming regional & international initiatives to support the peace process, we strongly believe the Moscow conference will boost the Doha peace talks & the upcoming Turkey conference on AFG,” the HCNR chief added.
