Gen. Zia appointed acting defence minister

KABUL (Pajhwok): Army Chief Gen. Yasin Zia has been appointed as acting Minister of Defence in compliance to Presidential decree, according to a statement on Friday.

The statement said that Gen. Zia will lead the Defence Ministry Affairs until Defence Minister Asadullah Khalid rehabilitated from the illness and return to the country.
