KABUL (Pajhwok): Hayatullah Hayat has been appointed as acting Minister of Interior while Mohammad Ayub Salangi appointed acting first Interior Ministry’s assistant to the minister, according to a statement on Friday.
National Security Council (NSC) in a statement said in compliance to Presidential decree Hayat and Salangi appointed in new high profile positions.
The move is part of bringing necessary reforms in security institutions, improvement in security situations ensuring the protection of masses and proper implementation of self-reliance plan 2024, the statement said.
Hayatullah Hayat so far served as the governor of Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak and Kandahar provinces. He replaced Masoud Andarabi as Interior Minister.
Salangi in the past served as first assistant to interior minister in the past.
