Massoud Andarabi’s dismissal against the political agreement: Abdullah

Kabul (Pajhwok): Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) said the decision to remove Interior Minister, massoud Andarabi and nominating HayatullahHayat as Acting Minister of Interior without consultation was against the political agreement between the two sides.

Abdullah said such decision in the current situation was unacceptable and against National interests of the country.

On Friday Hayatullah Hayat was appointed as the acting Minister of Interior (MoI) and Mohammad Ayub Salangi as the first deputy Minister of Interior in compliance with decree from President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

HayatullahHayat has previously served as governor of Maidan Wardak, Nangarhar and Kandahar provinces.

The copy of President Ghani’s decree states the appointments are aimed at making necessary reforms in the leadership and ranks of the Security sector, improving the security situation, protecting lives and property of people and better implementation of the self-sufficiency program by 2024.

Massoud Andarabi was appointed as acting Minister of Interior in 2019 and had received vote of confidence from the Wolesi Jirga as the Minister of Interior in 2021.
