PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Five security personnel have been killed and six others wounded as a result of a clash in northern Baghlan province.
A security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash erupted between the security forces and Taliban in Dahna Ghori district late on Sunday night.
He said: “The militants encircled a check-post. As reinforcements were on their way to the site, their tank struck a roadside bomb.”
According to the official, five policemen were killed and six others, including two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers, wounded in the blast.
Police spokesman Ahmad Javed Basharat confirmed the incident. However, he was unaware of casualties.
The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.
