In 24 hours, MoPH registers 15 new Covid-19 cases

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Tuesday said it registered 15 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours nationwide.

The ministry said the new cases pushed the overall tally in Afghanistan to 56,192 on Tuesday.

It said eight cases were detected in Nangarhar, two each in Kabul, Uruzgan and one in Kunar provinces.

Nine individuals recovered from the infection in Kandahar and Paktia, taking the recoveries to 49,752 and one person lost battle for life to the virus during the period, with the total death toll reaching 2,466.

It is noteworthy that worldwide about 122 million people have been infected with the corona virus so far and more than 91 million have recovered but more than 2.7 million people have died.
