JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The polio vaccination campaign has been temporarily suspended in eastern Nangarhar province after the killing of three female vaccinators in the province.
The three female polio vaccinators were killed in two separate attacks by unknown armed men in 4th and 7th police districts of Jalalabad City.
Dr. Jan Mohammad Sahibzada, head of the immunization unit at the public health department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the polio vaccination campaign had been suspended temporarily following the incidents.
He added the campaign would be resumed on Thursday and Friday.
Dr. NajibullahKamawal, head of the polio vaccination operation center in the east, told Pajhwok the polio vaccination drive had been suspended until further notice.
