KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The ulema council chief in northern Takhar province, Maulvi Abdul SamadMohammadi, was killed in a magnetic bomb blast on Wednesday, an official said.
Police spokesman Khalil Aseer told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place on the second road of Taloqan city, the provincial capital, at around 2pm.
He said Maulvi Abdul Samad Mohammad was killed as the magnetic bomb attached to his vehicle exploded.
According to Aseer, three friends of the slain scholar were injured in the blast and they shifted to hospital by police.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
