HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Nearly a dozen security personnel have suffered casualties as a result of a car bombing and a highway blast in western Herat province, officials said on Thursday.
Governor Syed Abdul Wahid Qatali told Pajhwok Afghan news the car bomb exploded in Shindand district of the province on Wednesday night.
He said the Taliban militants, having failed in face-to-face fighting with the security forces, had resorted to car bombings in their fight against the government.
Qatali added insurgents and National Directorate of Security (NDS) clashed after the blast. As a result, four NDS personnel were killed . . .
