MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Hundreds residents in northern Balkh province have stressed over the establishment of peace acceptable to all sides and that could ensure the protection of past achievements.
This was stated in a gathering organised by the Mandozaio Tribe in Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital.
Mandozaio tribal council head Haji Ali Shah Mandozai said every Afghan want the on-going conflict to come to an end and people adopt a peaceful life.
He said any settlement would have lasting impact if it is acceptable to all sides.
“We want peace, but at the same time want the past achievements to the protected, women and children rights to be upheld and we should be dragged to the past,” he said.
Balkh Borders and Tribal Affairs Department Director Khalilullah Safavi said international community should put pressure on conflicting sides to end fighting.
He said current war has no winner, adding the Taliban has no other option but to accept the demands of the people of Afghanistan.
He encouraged people to raise their voices in critical phase of Afghanistan’s politics and stressed that everyone should make sure their rights are protected.
